Diwali gifting gets complicated very quickly. You may start with a simple idea — a few sweets, chocolates, brownies, dry fruits or jars — and suddenly you are choosing between cavity boxes, rigid boxes, collapsible magnetic boxes, window hampers, baskets, ribbons, toppers, diyas and dozens of different sizes.
So instead of starting with the prettiest box, we recommend starting with one question: what exactly are you putting inside?
That one decision controls almost everything else.
A box for four laddoos does not need the same structure as a corporate hamper containing three jars. Handmade chocolates benefit from individual cavities. A brownie-and-chocolate combination needs compartments that stop the two products from moving into each other. A premium client hamper needs enough depth for a layered arrangement. An open basket can look beautiful when hand-delivered, but it needs a very different protection strategy if it is travelling through a courier network.
This guide is built around those practical decisions. We will look at real packaging from our Diwali Sweet Boxes, Diwali Hamper Boxes, Chocolate Boxes, Baskets, Diya Collection and festive finishing collections, and explain where each format genuinely works.
Quick Answer: Which Diwali Packaging Should You Choose?
| What You Are Packing | Packaging I Would Start With | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 4 laddoos or similar individual sweets | 4-laddoo sweet box | Compact format without paying for unnecessary empty space |
| Small chocolates, candies or a token Diwali gift | Pillow box or compact festive chocolate box | Simple, economical and already visually festive |
| 2–18 handmade chocolates | Cavity chocolate box | Keeps individual pieces separated and creates a cleaner presentation |
| Brownies plus chocolates or sweets | Partitioned/sliding hamper box | Different products stay visually separated |
| Dry fruits, chocolates, cookies, candles and small gifts together | Rigid or collapsible hamper box | More flexible internal arrangement |
| Three jars, tins or containers | Window gift box designed around jars/tins | Lets the products become part of the presentation |
| Premium client or employee hamper | Rigid box, magnetic collapsible box or premium window hamper | Stronger unboxing experience and cleaner branding |
| Hand-delivered lifestyle hamper | Basket or open hamper | Excellent visual merchandising when the full arrangement should stay visible |
That table is the starting point. The more important principle is this: the packaging should solve the physical problem first and the decorative problem second.
If a box looks beautiful but your laddoos roll around inside it, it is the wrong box. If a basket photographs beautifully but the items collapse into each other during a two-hour delivery route, it is the wrong setup. If a premium magnetic box consumes so much of the budget that you have to reduce the quality of what goes inside, the customer may not perceive the final hamper as premium anyway.
Our 5-Step Method for Planning a Diwali Gift Box
When we are deciding how to package a festive product, we find it much easier to work in this order.
1. Decide the contents. Write down every item, including its quantity and approximate physical dimensions. “Dry fruit hamper” is not specific enough. Four jars of dry fruits and four 100 g pouches of dry fruits require completely different packaging.
2. Decide how much movement is acceptable. Chocolates, decorated cookies and sweets with delicate finishes need more restraint than sealed pouches or jars. That is where cavities, trays and dividers become useful.
3. Decide whether the customer should see the contents before opening. If your products are highly visual, a transparent lid or window can do a lot of the selling for you. If the surprise and unboxing experience matter more, a fully closed rigid or magnetic box may work better.
4. Decide how the hamper will travel. Hand-delivery, employee desk distribution, local delivery and interstate courier are not the same job. Your beautiful presentation box can sit inside a stronger outer shipping carton when the route requires more protection.
5. Add the festive identity last. Once the structure works, then add Diwali colour, ribbon, a self-adhesive topper, sticker, diya, sleeve, branded card or logo. This usually produces a cleaner result than buying a heavily decorated box first and trying to force the products into it.
Diwali Sweet Boxes: Start With the Number and Shape of Sweets
Traditional sweets are one of the simplest Diwali gifts to understand but one of the easiest to over-package.
If you are selling four laddoos, you usually do not need a huge hamper. A compact sweet box can feel intentional because the product fills the space properly. It also makes bulk packing easier when you are preparing dozens or hundreds of identical gifts.
One of the simplest examples in our current Diwali range is the 9 × 9 × 4 cm 4-Laddoo Sweet Box. It is made using premium grey-back board and is sized specifically around four laddoos. The pack contains 100 boxes and was priced at ₹840 when we checked it.
This is the kind of packaging we would choose when the sweets themselves are the gift. Four well-made laddoos packed neatly can look much more considered than the same four pieces floating around inside a large hamper box.
The same principle applies to peda, truffles and other compact sweets: test the actual diameter and height of your product before buying a cavity or fixed-format box in bulk. “Four pieces” tells you the quantity; it does not tell you whether your individual sweet fits.
For larger assortments, you can browse the complete Diwali Sweet Box collection. If you are still deciding how to structure general bakery packaging beyond Diwali, our Complete Guide to Bakery Packaging for Home Bakers in India goes deeper into the broader packaging decisions.
When Should You Use a Small Diwali Gift Box Instead of a Hamper?
Not every Diwali order needs to become a hamper.
A compact box works especially well for office distribution, school or community gifting, event giveaways, small return gifts, single-product launches and lower-ticket festive add-ons.
Our 14 × 11 cm Premium Diwali Pillow Chocolate Box is a good example. The pillow-shaped format is designed for chocolates, candies, sweets and other small gift items. A pack of 10 was ₹240 when checked.
If you are giving two or three chocolates, a few candies or another small festive treat, this format can feel complete on its own. You do not need shredded filler, six decorative objects and a huge outer box to turn a small gift into something presentable.
Another compact option is our 6.5 × 6.5 × 10 cm Diwali Chocolate Gift Box in the yellow festive design. It has printed Diwali motifs and is intended for chocolates, candies, sweets, dry fruits or small gifts. A pack of 10 was ₹280 when checked.
One detail worth noticing here is that the ribbon shown in the product photography is not included with this box. We mention details like that because they matter when you are calculating the real packing cost for 50, 100 or 500 gifts. Never build your costing from the photograph alone; check what actually comes with the packaging.
How to Package Handmade Chocolates for Diwali
For handmade chocolates, our preference changes immediately: we care much more about individual positioning.
A loose chocolate assortment inside a beautiful box can still arrive looking messy if every piece has moved. Cavity trays solve a specific problem: they give each chocolate a place.
Our Gold Chocolate Gift Box with PVC Cover and Cavity Tray is available in 2-, 3-, 4- and 6-cavity formats. The transparent PVC cover keeps the assortment visible while the circular cavity insert separates the pieces. The pack size is 20 boxes, with the price range running from ₹280 to ₹700 when checked depending on the selected capacity.
We like this format when the chocolate itself is visually attractive — coloured bonbons, filled chocolates, truffles or moulded pieces — because the transparent cover allows the customer to see the assortment immediately.
For a more substantial Diwali gift, a drawer-style box creates a different experience. Our Premium Rigid Sliding Chocolate Box with Gold Tray combines a rigid sliding format with a gold cavity tray and is offered in 6-, 9-, 12-, 16- and 18-cavity versions. A pack of 10 was listed between ₹350 and ₹650 depending on cavity selection when checked.
The choice between these two formats is not simply cheap versus premium.
If visibility is the priority, the clear PVC format is excellent. If the opening experience and stronger gift-box feel are more important, the slider becomes more interesting. If the chocolates will go inside a larger hamper anyway, the simpler cavity box may be all you need.
You can explore more formats in our Chocolate Box collection and Chocolate Making & Packaging collection.
How to Build a Mixed Diwali Dessert Box Without Making It Look Messy
Mixed dessert boxes are harder than single-product boxes because every item wants a different amount of space.
Imagine you want to sell a Diwali box containing two brownies, nine chocolates, a small festive card and perhaps a diya. Putting everything loose into one large box means the smaller chocolates can collect around the brownies during transport.
This is where a partitioned format becomes much more useful.
Our Red Peacock 2-Brownie and 9-Cavity Slider Hamper Box is built around exactly this kind of mixed assortment. The overall box measures 31 × 15 × 4 cm. It includes larger brownie sections alongside smaller cavities, so different products can stay visually distinct rather than competing for the same open space. It was ₹150 per box when checked.
This is a good example of why we prefer designing the menu and packaging together. Instead of baking five products and later asking “what box will fit all of this?”, you can sometimes start with a useful compartment layout and design the assortment around it.
If brownies are going to be a major part of your Diwali menu, also read our Complete Brownie Packaging Guide. For cookies, our Cookie Packaging Ideas for Home Bakers covers individual packing, boxes and gifting formats in more detail.
Rigid Hamper Boxes: Best When the Box Is Part of the Gift
A rigid hamper box earns its place when you want the packaging to feel substantial even before the customer opens it.
Our 13 × 6 × 4 inch Rigid Rectangle Hamper Box in Red uses rigid board with a red base and gold-patterned lid. It was ₹180 for one box when checked.
The 13 × 6 × 4 inch footprint suits a horizontally arranged hamper much better than a tall, stacked composition. We would consider it for combinations such as dry fruits, chocolates, cookies, snacks or other individually packed products where the customer sees a neat row or layered arrangement when the lid comes off.
The mistake to avoid with rigid boxes is assuming the rigid outer structure automatically prevents internal movement. It does not. If you place four small products inside a large rigid box without inserts, filler or another method of restraint, they can still move around. The box protects the overall form; you still have to design the interior.
Collapsible Magnetic Boxes: Premium Look With Easier Storage
One of the biggest practical problems during Diwali is not just the cost of packaging — it is the physical space required to store it.
That is where collapsible rigid boxes are useful. You get the feel of a structured gift box after assembly, but the boxes can be stored flat before you need them.
Our Premium Peach Collapsible Magnetic Lid Gift Box is made from rigid board, uses a magnetic closure and comes in 8 × 8 × 4, 8 × 10 × 4 and 10 × 10 × 4 inch variants. The listed price range was ₹199–₹240 depending on size when checked.
This is the kind of neutral premium box that lets you create your own Diwali identity. You can keep the base box relatively minimal and bring in the festival through a gold topper, printed card, ribbon, dried decorative elements or the products themselves.
That approach is particularly useful if you want leftover packaging to remain usable after Diwali rather than being locked into a very specific festive print.
Window Hamper Boxes: Let the Products Do the Decorating
A window is useful when your arrangement is strong enough to be shown.
If you are using beautiful jars, tins, cookies or colour-coordinated products, hiding them behind a fully closed lid can actually remove part of the appeal.
Our 10 × 9 × 3.75 inch Premium Navy Blue & Gold Gift Box is designed to hold up to three tins. It combines a front window, carry handle and gold detailing. The tins are not included. A pack of 10 boxes was ₹999 when checked.
We would use this kind of format when the three containers are already attractive and consistent. For example, matching tins of cookies, nuts and chocolates can create a very ordered composition without needing much filler.
For a larger window hamper, our 12 × 10 × 5 inch Premium Red Hamper Box with Window and Golden Rope Handle gives you substantially more open interior space. A pack of 10 was ₹1,500 when checked.
Here, the window does two jobs. It creates product visibility and it forces you to arrange the hamper properly. If everything can be seen before the box opens, every jar, cookie pouch, candle and filler needs to look intentional.
When a Diwali Basket Works Better Than a Box
Boxes are not automatically better than baskets.
A basket is often the better choice when you want the gift to feel abundant and open. It works particularly well for hand-delivered hampers where the receiver should immediately see the assortment.
Our Red Oval Wooden Gift Basket with Rigid Handle comes in small, medium and large sizes, with open-top and zip-closure options. Prices were ₹260–₹380 depending on the selected configuration when checked.
The open-top format is useful when you are building a display-style hamper. The zip-closure version gives you another layer around the contents. Neither format should be treated as a substitute for a proper outer shipping carton if the hamper is going through rough courier handling.

Diwali Packaging Decision Chart
The chart below is our practical planning guide rather than a laboratory performance score. “Movement control” assumes the packaging is used correctly and the product actually fits the chosen cavities or restraints.
| Format | Movement Control | Product Visibility | Flexible Assortment | Premium Unboxing | Best Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cavity sweet/chocolate box | High | Medium to High | Low | Medium | Fixed-count sweets or chocolates |
| Partitioned slider box | High | Low until opened | Medium | High | Mixed brownies, chocolates and sweets |
| Rigid hamper box | Medium without inserts | Low until opened | High | Very High | Premium curated hampers |
| Collapsible magnetic box | Medium without inserts | Low until opened | High | Very High | Corporate and premium gifting |
| Window hamper box | Medium | Very High | High | High | Jars, tins and attractive packaged products |
| Open basket | Low until secured | Very High | Very High | High | Hand-delivered lifestyle hampers |
Add a Diya Without Turning the Hamper Into a Decoration Store
A Diwali hamper does not need ten festive accessories.
One meaningful non-food element can be enough. A diya works particularly well because it connects directly to the festival and gives the customer something to keep after the food is finished.
Our 12 cm 8-Petal Flower-Shaped Metal Plate Diya has a gold finish, a 12 cm diameter and 2 cm depth. It can be used as a decorative candle holder or as a base for candle making. The product contains the metal piece only; wax and other candle-making accessories are not included. It was ₹77 when checked.
When adding a diya to a food hamper, we would keep it physically separated from unpackaged food. If your sweets, cookies or chocolates are already individually contained, arranging the diya in a separate section becomes much simpler.
You can see more shapes and sizes in our Diya Collection.
Use a Diwali Topper When the Box Needs Identity, Not More Packaging
Sometimes the box is already good. It just does not look specifically “Diwali”.
Instead of replacing the entire box with a heavily printed festive design, add one restrained detail.
Our 4 Inch Happy Diwali D6 Self-Adhesive Topper has a diya-shaped design, a gold finish and a self-adhesive back. Its dimensions are approximately 10 × 10 cm and it was ₹17 when checked.
This is useful when you want a plain rigid, magnetic or window box to become festive without redesigning the entire packaging system. The same approach works with our Diwali Topper collection and Diwali Sticker collection.
It is also a good way to keep the visual hierarchy clean: product first, box second, festive accent third.
How We Would Build Different Diwali Hampers
| Hamper Type | Contents | Packaging Direction | Finishing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Simple Mithai Gift | 4 laddoos | Compact four-piece sweet box | Festive print or one sticker |
| Chocolate Sampler | 4–18 handmade chocolates | Cavity or rigid slider chocolate box | Small card or sleeve |
| Brownie + Chocolate Box | 2 brownies + assorted chocolates | Partitioned cavity slider box | Minimal ribbon or topper |
| Tea-Time Hamper | Cookies, tea/coffee, snacks | Rigid or collapsible hamper box | Filler only where needed to hold products |
| Three-Jar Hamper | Cookies, nuts and chocolates in jars/tins | Window box designed around three containers | Brand card visible through/behind window |
| Traditional Diwali Hamper | Sweets + dry fruits + diya | Rigid box or basket with separate food packs | Diya, gold topper and greeting card |
| Corporate Client Hamper | Curated packaged foods + keepsake | Rigid or magnetic collapsible box | Logo, card and restrained festive detail |
Corporate Diwali Gifting: Design for Repetition, Not Just One Beautiful Sample
This is where corporate gifting often goes wrong.
It is easy to create one impressive hamper. It is much harder to recreate the same hamper 100, 250 or 1,000 times without changing the arrangement, forgetting an item or increasing packing time on every unit.
For a large order, we would prioritise repeatability.
Lock the box first. Once the box size changes, the whole internal arrangement can change.
Lock the product count. “Assorted chocolates” should become a defined number. “Dry fruits” should become a defined number of jars or pouches.
Create one approved master hamper. Photograph the finished layout from directly above and from the front. Your packing team can then reproduce the same arrangement.
Pre-assemble by component. Instead of completing one hamper from start to finish, create stations: box assembly, filler/inserts, food loading, decorative element, greeting card, closing, final inspection and dispatch carton.
Keep the branding simple enough to reproduce. A logo placed consistently on 250 boxes will usually look more professional than 250 hampers where ribbons, tags and stickers all sit in different positions.
If you want branded packaging rather than only festive stock designs, browse our Custom Logo Print collection. Our current stock-box logo programme includes 250-piece runs for single-colour logo printing on eligible boxes; confirm the specific box, artwork placement and current production details with us before finalising a festive bulk order.
You can also read our Custom Cake & Brownie Box Printing Guide if you want to understand the difference between using an existing stock box with branding and moving to a more extensive custom packaging project.
How to Make a Diwali Hamper Look Premium Without Filling Every Empty Space
Premium does not mean “more stuff”.
The most common visual problem we see is a box with too many colours, too many fillers, multiple ribbons, a large topper, loose flowers, stickers, a printed card and five completely different product labels.
Instead, choose a simple visual system.
Pick one dominant box colour. Red, navy, green, peach, kraft, gold or another single base gives the eye somewhere to settle.
Choose one metallic accent. If the box already uses gold, continue with gold rather than adding silver and rose gold as well.
Repeat container shapes. Three matching jars usually look more expensive than three unrelated containers even when the actual food value is identical.
Control label direction. If every product label faces the customer when the box opens, the hamper immediately feels more deliberate.
Use height. A flat box does not mean everything needs to sit at exactly the same level. A small hidden support under a sealed product can improve visibility, as long as the final setup remains stable.
Leave intentional negative space. Empty space is only a problem when it looks accidental. A small area reserved for a card or diya can create a better composition than forcing another product into the box.
How Much Should You Spend on the Packaging?
There is no universal “correct percentage” of the hamper price that should go into packaging. Any fixed percentage we gave you would ignore your product cost, positioning, delivery expense, labour and margin.
We recommend working backwards.
Selling price – food/product cost – labour – payment or marketplace costs – delivery allowance – target profit = the amount available for packaging and finishing.
Then decide whether the box itself is supposed to add significant perceived value.
For a small four-laddoo giveaway, spending heavily on a rigid magnetic box may not improve the economics. For a premium ₹2,000+ corporate hamper, an extremely basic outer box may make the contents feel cheaper than they are. The packaging investment should match the positioning of the finished gift.
Most importantly, calculate using the complete packaging system, not only the price of the box. Include cavity trays, liners, pouches, jars, filler, ribbon, sticker or topper, greeting card, outer transport packaging and the labour needed to assemble everything.
Packaging Protection Chart: Think About the Product’s Weakest Point
| Product | Main Packaging Concern | What I Would Prioritise |
|---|---|---|
| Laddoos / peda / individual mithai | Movement and deformation | Correct fit, cavities or restrained placement |
| Handmade chocolates | Movement, scuffing and temperature exposure | Individual cavities plus temperature-aware delivery planning |
| Brownies | Surface damage and product-to-product contact | Correct cavity/liner and stable flat transport |
| Crisp cookies | Breakage and loss of crispness | Primary food packaging before decorative hamper placement |
| Dry fruits | Spillage and presentation | Sealed jars/pouches or dedicated compartments |
| Jars and tins | Impact and movement | Internal restraint, dividers or closely fitted layout |
| Diya / keepsake | Contact with food and movement | Separate section away from unpackaged food |
If you need product-specific storage guidance, our Bakery Shelf Life Guide for India is the better place to start. Decorative Diwali packaging should never be used to guess or extend a food product’s actual shelf life.
Food Packaging and Labels Still Matter Inside a Beautiful Hamper
A decorative hamper is the presentation layer. It does not replace appropriate primary food packaging.
If a cookie needs a sealed pouch, put it in the pouch before it goes into the hamper. If dry fruits are being sold in a jar, close the jar properly before styling the box. If chocolates need cavities, do not remove the cavities just because loose pieces photograph better.
For food businesses selling pre-packaged products, also make sure your labels and packaging comply with the rules that apply to your products and business. FSSAI’s Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations govern labelling requirements for pre-packaged foods, and the regulations have continued to receive amendments, including an amendment in March 2026. Check the current material directly through FSSAI rather than copying an old label template from another business.
How to Pack 100 Diwali Hampers Without Losing Your Mind
A good festive packing workflow is boring and that is exactly why it works.
Do the creative thinking before the packing day.
Stage 1: Build the approved sample. Put every component into one finished hamper. Close it. Carry it around. Tilt it gently. Open it again. Check whether the contents are still where you wanted them.
Stage 2: Photograph the layout. Make the photo your assembly reference.
Stage 3: Count everything before starting. If you have 100 hampers, do not discover at hamper number 83 that you only ordered 80 greeting cards.
Stage 4: Prepare boxes in batches. Fold or assemble all boxes that can be safely prepared in advance.
Stage 5: Add inserts and filler consistently. Use the same amount and position in each box.
Stage 6: Load the largest products first. They establish the layout. Smaller products can then fill designed spaces around them.
Stage 7: Add the fragile decorative element last. Cards, toppers and decorative accessories usually go in after the functional structure is complete.
Stage 8: Inspect before closing. Check product count, label direction, visible damage, closure and recipient information.
Stage 9: Separate presentation packaging from transport packaging. If the hamper needs an outer carton, add it only after the presentation box passes inspection.
Local Diwali Delivery vs Shipping Across India
Your packaging decision should change with the route.
If you are delivering a premium hamper locally in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi NCR or another city, you may have much more control over the orientation of the package and the time between packing and handover.
If the same hamper enters a multi-day courier network, assume you will have less control over orientation, stacking and repeated handling. A decorative handle is convenient for gifting, but it is not an outer shipping system. A transparent window is excellent for presentation, but it should not be expected to protect a hamper from rain or external impact by itself.
Think in layers:
Layer 1: the food’s own appropriate packaging.
Layer 2: the Diwali presentation box or basket.
Layer 3: internal movement protection where necessary.
Layer 4: an outer transport package appropriate to the delivery route.

For businesses sourcing into Mumbai, we have a separate Bakery Packaging Supplier Guide for Mumbai.
How Early Should I Order Diwali Packaging in 2026?
There is no single order date that works for every business because a baker ordering 20 stock boxes and a company developing thousands of branded hampers do not have the same workflow.
But we would not wait for the week of Diwali to make the important decisions.
For 2026, Diwali is on 8 November. Work backwards from your dispatch date rather than from the festival itself.
Your planning sequence should be:
First: finalise the festive menu or gift assortment.
Second: buy or test one suitable packaging format.
Third: build a real sample with actual products.
Fourth: confirm the selling price after seeing the true packaging cost.
Fifth: photograph and launch the hamper.
Sixth: estimate order volume and buy your main packaging quantity.
Seventh: prepare an assembly and dispatch plan.
Custom logo printing or fully customised packaging should be planned earlier than standard stock packaging because artwork, approval and production add steps to the process.
Should I Buy One Box for Every Diwali Hamper?
Usually, no.
If you have a broad customer base, we prefer creating a small packaging system rather than twenty completely different hampers.
For example:
Format A: compact sweet/chocolate gift.
Format B: medium festive hamper.
Format C: premium corporate/client hamper.
You can then change the contents within controlled limits.
This makes stock management much easier. It also means you can photograph three genuinely strong products rather than trying to sell fifteen hampers that all look almost identical.
How to Design a Diwali Hamper for Instagram Without Designing Only for Instagram
A hamper has two lives: the photograph and the journey to the customer.
We want both to work.
For photographs, arrange important product labels toward the camera, use the actual finished box, photograph the open and closed states and show enough scale that the customer understands what they are buying.
Do not photograph a box with six props that will not be supplied. If a ribbon, jar, flower or diya is only part of the shoot, make that clear. Customers naturally form expectations from the image before they read every line of text.
Then do a second test that has nothing to do with photography: close the hamper and move it.
If it only looks good while sitting open on a studio table, the packaging is not finished yet.
Common Diwali Packaging Mistakes We Would Avoid
Buying by external dimensions alone. Two boxes can have similar outside measurements and completely different usable interiors because of cavities, inserts, board thickness or construction.
Choosing the box before deciding the products. This usually produces awkward empty space or forces you to change the menu.
Using filler as the only movement control for fragile products. Decorative filler can improve presentation, but a dedicated cavity or divider is often more predictable for delicate pieces.
Overfilling. If the lid has to compress the products to close, the box is too small or the assortment is too large.
Underfilling a very large hamper. A huge rigid box containing three tiny products can communicate less value, not more.
Forgetting transport packaging. The Diwali box is often the gift package, not the courier carton.
Ignoring packing labour. A complicated ribbon that takes four minutes to tie becomes a serious operational problem at hundreds of units.
Using too many visual themes. Pick a visual direction and repeat it.
Ordering bulk packaging without a sample fit. Whenever dimensions are critical, test with your real product first.
Making the packaging more expensive than the experience justifies. Spend where the customer notices it.
What Is the Best Diwali Packaging for Sweets?
For sweets, the best box is the smallest format that holds the intended quantity without crushing the product or allowing excessive movement. If you sell a fixed count such as four laddoos, a box designed around that count is usually more efficient than a large open hamper. For mixed mithai, use compartments or trays when you want each variety to stay visually separate. Browse our Diwali Sweet Boxes to compare formats.
What Is the Best Diwali Packaging for Handmade Chocolates?
We prefer cavity packaging when individual chocolates need to stay separated. A transparent PVC box works well when you want immediate visibility; a rigid slider is better when you want a stronger unboxing moment. Match the cavity dimensions to your actual chocolates before ordering in quantity.
What Is the Best Box for a Corporate Diwali Hamper?
For corporate gifting, we would choose a box that is easy to reproduce at scale. Rigid boxes, magnetic collapsible boxes and structured window hampers are good starting points because they create a clear format for repeated assembly. The correct size still depends entirely on the products going inside.
Can I Put Sweets, Chocolates and a Diya in One Hamper?
Yes, but keep the diya physically separate from unpackaged food. Pack the edible products appropriately first and then arrange the non-food item in its own section. A partitioned box, rigid hamper or well-planned basket makes this easier.
Are Window Hamper Boxes Good for Diwali Gifting?
Yes, especially when the contents already look attractive. A window works well for jars, tins, decorated cookies, packaged chocolates and coordinated products because the customer can see the assortment before opening the gift. Spend extra time arranging labels and heights because the interior becomes part of the exterior presentation.
Are Collapsible Magnetic Boxes Good for Corporate Diwali Gifts?
They can be an excellent choice when you want a premium presentation but also need to store unused boxes more efficiently before assembly. The magnetic closure improves the opening experience, while the flat-storage format is useful when festive packaging begins occupying significant warehouse or bakery space.
Should I Use a Basket or a Box for Diwali Hampers?
Choose a basket when visibility and an abundant open presentation are the priority. Choose a box when you want a contained unboxing experience or easier stacking. If the hamper is being couriered, either presentation format may still need a separate outer shipping carton.
How Can I Make Simple Packaging Look More Festive for Diwali?
You do not need to replace the whole box. Start with one strong festive element: a gold self-adhesive Diwali topper, sticker, diya, ribbon or printed greeting card. This is particularly effective on plain rigid, magnetic, white or kraft packaging.
What Should I Put in a Diwali Hamper for Customers or Employees?
Start with the recipient and your budget rather than a generic checklist. A food-led hamper could combine dry fruits, chocolates, cookies, brownies, tea or coffee. A mixed hamper could add a diya or keepsake. Whatever you choose, limit the assortment to products that make sense together and can be packaged safely in the same format.
How Do I Calculate the Cost of Diwali Packaging?
Add every packaging component, not only the outer box. Include primary food packs, trays or cavities, jars, filler, ribbon, stickers or toppers, greeting cards, outer shipping cartons and packing labour. Then evaluate that total against your selling price and target margin.
Can Home Bakers Use Diwali Hampers to Increase Average Order Value?
Yes, but the hamper should provide a genuinely different purchase rather than simply placing ordinary menu items into a larger box. Build a clear assortment, give it a defined quantity, choose packaging specifically for that assortment and price the complete experience. If you are building your bakery business more broadly, our Home Baking Business Guide for India can help with the wider setup.

Final Diwali Packaging Checklist for 2026
Before you place the final packaging order, ask yourself these questions.
Do I know the exact products and quantities going into each box?
Have I tested the largest product against the usable internal space?
Can the fragile items move?
Does each food item have the primary packaging it requires?
Will the customer see the contents through a window?
Does the arrangement still look correct when the box is carried?
Is the presentation packaging suitable for the delivery route, or do I need another outer carton?
Have I included every packaging component in my costing?
Can my team reproduce this exact hamper repeatedly?
Have I made it festive without burying the products under decoration?
Have I checked current stock, variant and pricing information before committing the hamper to customers?
Have I left enough time for artwork and production if I am using branded packaging?
Build Your Diwali 2026 Packaging Around the Gift, Not the Other Way Around
The best Diwali packaging is not automatically the most expensive box, the largest hamper or the design with the most gold on it.
It is the package that makes the contents feel intentional.
Four laddoos should look like a complete four-laddoo gift. Twelve handmade chocolates should arrive in twelve deliberate positions. Three jars should sit straight and present their labels properly. A diya should feel like part of the gift rather than something dropped into the last available corner. A corporate hamper should look the same whether you make the first one or the 250th.
That is how we would plan Diwali gifting in 2026.
Start with the products. Choose the structure. Test the movement. Build the visual arrangement. Then add the festive finish.
